A retired architect, Graeme devotes his life to his passion for Australian Art. Well established as a collector of Australian art, Graeme is a regular attendee at the Venice Biennale, Contempora and Art Basel. Graeme has had a long involvement in art prizes as the curator, judge and selection committees, formerly serving as Deputy Chairman of the Contempora Sculpture Prize, a regular judge of the ANL Maritime Art Prize, a Board Melbourne of Lorne Sculpture Biennale 2020 and as former curator and chairman of the Biennial Melbourne Savage Club Acquisitive Art Prize (2001-2013).
Recently Graeme completed his Master of Arts at Deakin focussed on a socio-cultural reading of one of Melbourne’s most significant private art collections and he is a member of ICOM (Conseil international des musées) where he is a committee member of CIMAM (International Committee for Modern Art). Currently Graeme is a PhD candidate at Federation University where he is researching the Melbourne Art Scene from 1851, focusing on the role of the Victorian Artists’ Society.
