Laurie Franklin
Artist’s Statement
My art practice is multifaceted and I work with oils, acrylics and mixed media including glass, textiles and collage. In addition to working in my
home studio, I have an art studio set up in a Toyota van that enables me a creative freedom.
I am inspired by the natural world, in particular the sea and meteorological phenomena.
My artwork is found in homes, hotels and offices in Australia, Europe, USA, Canada, China, Singapore and Southern Africa.
I have worked as an Adult art facilitator conducting art workshops for a Perth City council and taught young adults at a community art gallery.Biography
Laurie is inspired by historical references and re-interpreting them in her artwork. She has a mobile studio in a Toyota Van and enjoys painting in nature.
